Woman Faces Murder for Tragically Killing a Man in a 2-Vehicle DUI Crash

|

Amy Cole was arrested after causing a DUI crash that claimed the life of a young man in Stanislaus County, California. The deadly crash took place on August 12th in the area of South Walnut Road and West Harding Road at approximately 1:30 a.m.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2002 Ford driven by 20-year-old victim Isaac Aguilera was traveling northbound approaching Harding Road at a high rate of speed. For unknown reasons, he drifted to the east and collided into a concrete barrier wall. The crash caused the Ford to flip over and land on its roof.

Soon after, a 2011 Hyundai Genesis came speeding and slammed into the Ford, causing both vehicles to spin out. The impact of the crash resulted in the Hyundai ripping the Ford in half.

CHP identified the other driver as Amy Cole, 45, of Hilmar. According to records, Cole tried to stop to avoid hitting the damaged Ford but could not. Consequently, the Hyundai ripped the Ford through the driver seat area up to the driver side trunk area.

Unfortunately, the injuries Aguilera sustained were severe. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

Cole sustained moderate injuries following the crash. Authorities arrested and booked her for driving without a valid license, driving while under the influence causing bodily injury, and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
